In front of a sell-out crowd at the
Roadway Inn & Conference Center in Allentown, PA heavy weight prospect
Travis Kauffman and light welter Jason Cintron dominated their way to
solid wins. Promoted by Kings Promotions, this night featured some up =
and
coming amateurs plus a few exciting professional bouts.
In the main event Travis cruised his =
way
to a unanimous decision (UD) over the under conditioned Mike Miller of Akro=
n,
OH. All three judges scored it 60-54. Despite being outweighed by more than=
35
lbs Travis was able to box and bang to keep Mike Miller at bay. Bouncing ba=
ck
from his controversial loss at the hands of Tony Grano on Showtime Travis
displayed some good boxing skills by going to the body often and switching =
to
southpaw on occasion. Although Travis looked impressive you must consider h=
is
opponent who was totally out of shape with a record of 6-16 =
and
taking the fight on short notice. I'm going to sit on making assu=
mptions
on Travis but I would like to see him in a few more fights before the =
jury
is out on him.
On the co-feature, home town favorite
Jason Cintron had the crowd going nuts by scoring a 59-55 win
over the durable Maurice Chalmers. Cintron scored an impressive over h=
and
right knock down in the 2nd round but Chalmers was able to hold on and avoid
the stoppage. Cintron was going for the KO the entire fight, this=
is
why I believe Maurice was able to hang on a little longer than expected. Ja=
son
had the mind set of knocking this guy out with the over hand right from the
start, instead of working the jab and setting up the KO. Cintron moves to 1=
2-1
with 3 KO and Chalmers drops to 7-10-1.
On the card as well was promising
super-middleweight Farah Ennis of Philadelphia. Looking in great shape Farah
cruised to a 3rd round TKO of Emmanuel Gonzales on a lighting fast body sho=
t!
Farah improves to 12-0.

record to 3-1-2 with a 3rd round KO of John Willoughby. Speedy featherweight
