THE PHILADELPHIA BOXING REPORT
PHILLY'S TOP 10 PHILLY FIGHTERS.

  #1
Steve Cunningham
21 - 2 - (11 KO's) Cruiserweight
This man has made a living traveling the world and winning is hostile territory. He was Philadelphia's only champion for awhile there until his spectacular battle with Tomasz Adamek, who's only loss, came to Chad Dawson. Cunningham was a quiet Champion, but now the beast inside will be released. Expect a rematch, and expect a win.

#2
Bernard Hopkins
49 - 5 - 1 (32 KO's) Light Heavyweight
Kelly Pavlik…enough said

#3
Eddie Chambers
33 - 1 (18 KO's) Heavyweight
Eddie is very fast, and that is what will make or break him. He chose to stand flat footed against Alexander Povetkin, and paid for it. If he gets a second chance, he will do what he does best, and that is simply greasy speed.

#4
Chazz Witherspoon
24 - 1 (16 KO's) Heavyweight
It must be a Philly thing, because whenever a Philly fighter gets on a national stage, they tend to want to show their beard and bang with their opponents. Witherspoon is an incredible boxer, and if he does that, he will not lose for a long time. His only loss to Areola will be his last for quite a while. Expect the best for the Gentleman in 2009.

#5
Demetrious Hopkins
28 -1 -1 (11 KO's) Light Welterweight
He struck out when he had his big shot against Kendall Holt, but he has skill and will be a world champion soon.

 #6
Mike Jones
16 - 0 (14KO's) Welterweight
A classic banger who is learning how to box. His future is entirely up to his work ethic. Will he rely totally on his big punch and get exposed on the upper shelf? Not as long as he is with Russell Peltz. Expect Jones to be the next big thing out of Philadelphia.

#7
Teon Kennedy
11 - 0 (5 KO's) Super Bantamweight
Russell Peltz calls this guy the most skilled young fighter in Philadelphia. Technically proficient, tough and smart.

 #8
Derrick Ennis
16 - 2 - 2 (12 KO's) Light Middleweight
Ennis can hit very hard, but he has a tendency of leaving himself out of position. He doesn't have a glass jaw as Allen Conyers or Alphonso Williams might leave you to believe. He just needs to get his feet right and develop better balance. If he does that, he can knock out anyone, and I do mean anyone.

 #9
Rock Allen
14 - 0 (7 KO's) Welterweight
Allen has been the invisible man lately. He has real ability, but he needs to face some tough Philly fighters to find out what he has down below. I personally think he can be a monster in the division, the question is, do the people that promote him believe that. If so, put him out there more.

#10
Danny Garcia
10 - 0 (7 KO's) Welterweight
Danny makes the list above a lot of deserving fighters, who have given us a bunch of great fights, but I really like this kid. Yes he is a banger, but he is smart. He has great vision in the ring for such a young fighter.
